Elephant Gin pays tribute to the African history by using several exotic botanicals from the hottest continent to spice up their gin. The list of ingredients is long and includes African botanicals such as the Baobab fruit, Buchu and African wormwood.
A particularity about Elephant Gin is that 15% of the profits of every sold bottle go to the two animal protection organisations "Big Life Foundation" and "Space for Elephants Foundation", which are protecting elephants in danger. This piece of background information also explains the name.
The bottles come in a flask shape and have a really unique label design. The front label looks like an ancient stamp, the back label is a map of the west coast of Africa. The 0.5L bottles are sealed with a cork and a cord.
When enjoyed on its own, Elephant Gin is a pure treat - but to really get the best out of the German gin, you will have to mix some G&Ts. The producers of this gin suggest to have it with Fentimans Tonic Water - and maybe some apple peel as a garnish.
