The Illusionist Dry Gin - first it's blue and then pink. But how?

On first glance, The Illusionist Dry Gin appears to be a secretive bottle from a magician's cabinet. The matt black bottle decorated with a label with a mysterious design gives off some ominous vibes. As soon as you pour The Illusionist into a glass, you are faced with another riddle: how can gin be blue? On to the next question: why does it turn pink when you add tonic water? The beauty of this drink is the fact that there are no artificial ingredients at work here, rather it's a natural spectacle. During its production process, The Illusionist Dry Gin is infused with special petals giving it its distinct colour. By mixing it with an acidic drink, it turns pink. It takes you back to those chemistry lessons at school, only this time it's all natural and tasty!

What can you expect from The Illusionist?

The actual magicians backstage are the dentist Max Muggenthaler and certified business economist Tim Steglich, who operate a gin distillery in the Munich borough of Glockenbachviertel. In November 2016, they produced the first batch of The Illusionist Dry Gin, which is unfiltered. They use juniper, of course, as well as cardamom, lavender, liquorice, angelica, rosemary, mace, and citrus fruits as botanicals. The dry gin goes swimmingly with Fever Tree Tonic and other dry tonics. Don't shy away from combining it with a fruity mixer - the beautiful effect also works this way!
